The ministries of The Dalles First Christian Church are driven by a desire to give everyone solid biblical direction for life. Hard decisions have to be made in the midst of confusing alternatives. The Scriptures give us our direction. It is the Word of God that brings the clarity and direction we need when we find ourselves at difficult crossroads. Amor Group News - Invite, Grow, Mature

Amor Groups are a great place to learn what the life as a disciple of Jesus Christ is all about. Amor Groups are where we develop meaningful relationships, grow in faith and personal application of God’s Word, shepherd people and minister to their needs and encourage one another to serve the Body of Christ. Exaltation Ministries

Our Exaltation Ministries endeavor to meet the emerging needs of the ministry while offering excellence in  hospitality and customer service to the congregation and visitors alike. Their charge is to honor and esteem God at every juncture in ministry. They magnify and give thanks to the Father without reservation as we worship Him in spirit and in truth. Each Ministry Department has a Ministry Team Leader. These persons work in conjunction with every ministry in the department to guide and assist in the smooth execution of their individual events. The following is a list of our Exaltation Ministries and the team leaders:

Choir / The Dalles Worship Choir

The choir at First Christian Church begins the end of August and runs through May. They sing in the services a couple times per month with rehearsals every Tuesday night from 7:00pm to 8:15pm. The Dalles Worship Choir is a community church choir that performs annually during the Christmas season and sometimes in the spring. There is a $20.00 participation fee for this group which provides music for the singers. Shawn Lutz is the team leader.

Audio / Visual Team

The sound team is a crucial part of our weekend services. These servants aren't always seen but they are the ones who make it so we can hear all aspects of the service. Responsibilities are learning how to run the sound equipment, microphones, dvd player, cd player, etc. On occasion they are needed for extra services such as weddings and funerals. Mike Lutz is the team leader.

Communion

We have a list of women from the church that sign up, a month at a time, to prepare and clean up the communion elements for the weekend services. We are always looking for volunteers. Marilyn Nielsen is the team leader.

Baptistery

It is the responsibility committee to launder the towels and gowns after a baptism and return them to the baptistery weekly. Team leader is Marilyn Nielsen. Servants are Sissy Turner and Toni Marks.

Generational Ministry - Are YOUR Youth Plugged In?

Aside from my parents and friends being influential in my life, growing up, youth group was definitely an effective tool in helping to shape my thoughts on God and what He has planned for my life. I absolutely love working with our junior high and high school students that are involved in our weekly youth group! The group is so diverse; we have musicians, athletes, skaters, video gamers, and actors. Each of our youth mentors that help out with the program our committed followers of Jesus, who have a huge heart for God and these students! It has been very encouraging to see God move through the 35-45 students that come on a weekly basis. We would love for your teen to get plugged in, too! This is group is welcoming, and we can easily find a place for your teen to fit in. Come join us on Wednesdays 7pm-8:30pm in the church basement for hanging out, games, worship, and a life message! ~ Pastor Mark Hammer - Generational Ministry

First Christian Church youth group of The Dalles exists to change this world for Christ one student at a time through intentional relationships. We see youth group as a starting point in connecting students to adult leaders and strong teenage believers who are committed to showing them a Christ like faith, sharing a God's plan, and shaping them into disciples. At certain times during the year, we offer in depth Bible studies for our high school students.
